The Mechanical Engineering Department started functioning in the year 1992. It offers three–year diploma programme in Mechanical Engineering. . The sanctioned intake at present is 60 students per year.
The department has well equipped laboratories with adequate number of machines, tools, and equipments. The infrastructure is continuously upgraded to suit the changing needs of modern technology and course requirements. The latest additions to the list are a CNC Lathe and CNC Milling Machine. All the laboratories are well organized and well maintained and conform to the 5S standards.
The courses of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering have been formulated to give a strong insight into the field of Mechanical Engineering for the students. The faculties and technical staff of the department are highly qualified and well experienced.
