The institution has a testing centre and consultancy wing for providing testing and consultancy services to other institutions as well as industries. Various activities undertaken by the testing centre and consultancy wing are:
- Material testing
- Consultancy for computerization and Core banking of Co-operative Banks
- Services to various Govt. institutions like hospitals, family health centers, local self-government institutions etc. for procurement and condemnation of equipment and tools.
The charges applicable for these services are as decided by the Govt. of Kerala from time to time and the amount thus obtained is also deposited with the Govt. of Kerala. The current Officer in Charge of the testing centre is Sri. Anuraj K., Workshop Instructor in Mechanical Engineering.
