Continuing Education Cell

The Continuing Education Cell of Central Polytechnic College was established in the year 1998. Now it is functioning as a Sub-Centre under the Centre for Continuing Education Kerala. Through the Continuing Education Cell, we enable the employed/unemployed educated youth to pursue courses of different duration which are useful for their career up gradation or skill improvement.

Objectives

  • Impart need-based training to unemployed youth
  • Offer training programs to upgrade the technical/management skills much sought after by the small scale industry and business.
  • Identify the employment potential in emerging areas and conduct competency based skill development programmes.
  • Undertake such other activities to meet the training/educational objectives of the society.

The Continuing Education Cell at GPC Kasaragod has organized a variety of short term courses like tailoring, electrical wiring and plumbing, aluminium fabrication etc. which have got great response from the general public. The income generated from these courses is being utilized for various developmental activities of the college.

The Continuing Education Cell is running a motor driving school for the staff and students of GPC Kasaragod as well as the public. More than hundreds of students and pubic have successfully completed training under the school and earned driving license.

The functioning of the CEC is monitored and controlled by a CEC Advisory Committee headed by the Principal. The day to day activities are managed by the CEC Manager. The present Continuing Education Cell Manager is Sri. Jacob Thomas, Workshop Superintendent.
